As a learning professional, I have made a tremendous growth spurt during the course Designing Learning for the Brain. Both in how I design and facilitate learning. Understanding how our brain functions feels like essential knowledge for all learning (learning) professionals. I would recommend the program if you're interested in growing as a person and as a (learning) professional.

Seline van Remundt, Freelance L&D, Trainer, Yoga teacher, Well-Being advocate

Joining this program was a game-changer for me. I learned so much and got very inspired by the creative ideas flowing around! We did all kinds of fun & engaging exercises that I can't wait to use in my workshops. I also liked that I got the chance to practice in a safe environment, with a small cohort of peers, facilitating a short workshop and exploring the world of embodied learning together. I feel way more confident now, and I know I'll use what I learned in my job. :)

I was fortunate to have been invited to take part in the Fundamentals of AI for L&D Leaders by Offbeat. I learned so much from the facilitators and my co-participants. The program is highly recommended for L&D professionals who want to know how they can leverage AI in their work!

What will you learn?

Oh, so many things! But don't take our word for it. Explore what you'll be capable of at the end of the program if you give it your all, of course.

1

Learn about your brain

Get a grasp on the fundamentals of how your brain takes in and processes information, stores it (memory) and how we often work against the system.

2

Learn how to learn better

Once you have an understanding of the operational system, you’ll be able to understand and apply knowledge and methods to learn better with more strategy and intention.

3

Learn how to integrate science into learning design

Be able to look at the way you design learning through the lens of the brain and the operating system. This is where you’ll learn to integrate function and theory and become more aware of the advantages and limitations you have when designing learning.

Session 1

The non-boring facilitation framework

In the first session, you will learn the top Engagement Hacks that can help you grab the attention of your participants and make your sessions relevant to them. You will explore the 3 elements of an Engaging Flow, including storytelling, non-boring exercises and debriefings and reflections. By honing these skills, you will lead dynamic sessions that inspire participants' enthusiasm for the learning process.

Session 2

Faciliting fun, active, engaging sessions

The second session is fully dedicated to engagement, making your workshops active, fun, and engaging. We will go through specific cases and topics (like leadership, difficult conversations, feedback, and growth mindset) and you will experience how to transform them from a lecture to a non-boring workshop.

Session 3

Coaching for facilitation

Coaching is becoming a buzz word but fear not! In the third session, you will learn all about the fundamentals of coaching! As a facilitator, you need to know how to integrate coaching into leading reflections and also how to address participant questions when you don’t have all the answers. In the session, we will cover that and explore the 3 coaching keys for effective facilitation: Alignment, Accountability, and Measurement.

Session 4

Addressing difficult participants

If difficult participants are the reason you are doing less facilitation than you wish, then you will love the fourth session. There we will develop the confidence to skillfully handle resistance and effectively address 7(!) types of difficult participants. Also, you will learn techniques to keep the panel discussion on track and strategies for engaging a silent audience.

Week 5

Embodied Presence

In the final session, enhance your Facilitator's Embodied Presence—an advanced skill cultivated after mastering workshop fundamentals. Develop key skills like projecting authority, building rapport through non-verbal cues, and leveraging your presence to inspire trust and meaningful connections with participants.

During the program you can to practice facilitating a non-boring workshop with real audience and get feedback! That means that in the session no 2,3,4 and 5 there will be dedicated time for practice and peer learning! It is not obligatory to lead a short workshop- only if it is appealing to you!

Week 6

Skills you'll practice:

FACILITATION
ENGAGEMENT
BRIEFING & DEBRIEFING
COACHING
CREATIVITY

I recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in this amazing learning journey with Lauren. The program focused on understanding how to learn and how to design more successful learning, and I cannot express enough how transformative the experience has been for me. The program not only provided a deep dive into the intricacies of the brain's learning mechanisms but also equipped me with practical strategies to enhance my own learning and cognitive abilities.

I appreciate the time and effort invested into designing and delivering the program. The content was very relevant and highly practical filled with vivid and on-point examples. Lena is a fantastic facilitator! She made everyone feel included and ensured we all had our chance to ask questions, contribute, and practice.
